When we started thinking about guardian homes, we had no idea how it would change our lives. So many people ask me what it is and how it works. It's pretty simple, if we feel you have the love and devotion to care for one of our adult dogs or raise one of our puppies, we offer you a dog/puppy at no cost to you. We pay for vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick prevention. We also pay for dog food for all female dogs, it will get delivered right to your home. The female dogs will be spending time away from you to come here to have her puppies (6-8 weeks). You are welcome to visit, I LOVE to involve your kids with "work" with the puppies (they love it). The dogs get treated like ours and love it here because it's like their second home. (With less rules ha ha.) They sleep on the couch and run and play with the other dogs when they don't feel like being with their puppies. If you are interested in a male, the dog will come here once or twice for each female, for about 30-40 minutes each time, when he is needed for "work".
We consider you part of our Zoo family and we can absolutely not thank our guardian homes enough for the joy they bring into our world and our dog's worlds!!
Female dogs -
Your dog will have a heat cycle (blood around the house but they do have doggie diapers). Heat cycles can be unexpected, and your dog may miss out on family vacations/holidays if it is during the time they need to be here with us. You will be responsible for all transport to any vet appointments as well as transport to the Zoo for breedings, time for whelping and to be picked up after weaning pups. We ask you please live within 2 hours of Newfypoo Zoo for a female.
Male dogs
Each year, you will receive $200 for the first 5 litters the male produces (up to 1,000,00 per year). You must live within 1 hour of Newfypoo Zoo and be willing to transport male for multiple breedings if necessary.
Guardian home families enjoy the puppies and visiting their dog at the (old) zoo :)

There is nothing more important to us than our dogs' quality of life. With that being said, we had to make a decision on how to keep our waiting list to a minimum without cheating our dogs and puppies. We continued to grow and could not be more honored to have so many wonderful families wanting our babies and be willing to wait for them. We had two choices, buy a farm and throw our dogs in kennels or find homes for them where they are treated the way every animal deserves to be treated. We obviously decided to go with the guardian homes (the only humane thing we would ever consider) and give our girls an amazing life.
Some of our dogs don't care to play too much with the other dogs and would much rather spend their days getting loved on by humans (rather than licked on by dogs :-) These are the girls we felt were the best fit for a guardian home. This was not an easy decision for me, as my dogs sleep in my bed and lay on my couch while we watch a movie. However, after I see how happy, content and loved my girls are in other homes it was truly a blessing in disguise. My dogs are in amazing homes getting so much one on one attention AND I have met so many friends that are a huge asset to the Newfypoo Zoo.
Each dog and their guardian family has their own story. Each story is told by them. I stay in contact with my guardian homes regularly. Yes, we really do have the best families ever working with us! As you may notice, I am a bit protective of my business and I are very proud of our dogs, puppies and the way we run things. We didn't become the Newfypoo Zoo over night. It took a couple years of trial and error to build what we feel is a perfect place to call our Zoo.
